No Jab, No Pay – Information for Patients

No Jab, No Pay – In effect from January 1, 2016.

The Australian Government has issued that all children (up to and including 19 years of age) must be fully immunised (unless medically contraindicated or evidence of natural immunity) in order for families to be eligible for Child Care Benefit, Child Care Rebate and the Family Tax Benefit Part A end of year supplement (family assistance payments).

Our doctors and nurses will work with families to ensure their children are up to date with immunisations.

The No Jab No Pay program means that some children and teenagers will need to have a catch-up schedule arranged to ensure their vaccinations are up to date.  It is important to note that it may take multiple appointments to confirm, arrange and complete the correct immunisation catch up (this can differ depending on age, previous immunisations and vaccine availability).

Families affected by the No Jab, No Pay  policy will be  notified in writing by the government.   If you have not received this letter the No Jab, No Pay ruling should not affect you.  To confirm your child’s immunisation status, visit MyGov and register/login to your MyGov account.

Payments that may have ceased will be resume once ACIR has updated its files with evidence of vaccinations, and all compulsory vaccines are government funded (Medicare rebate eligible consultation fees may apply).
